INTRODUCTION:

The Directorate of Human Rights has already been working since 2010 and it was established in September-2008 under Law Parliamentary Affairs & Criminal Prosecution Department with three divisional offices at Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur. Two more Regional offices at Shaheed Benazirabad and Mirpurkhas have been functional since the establishment of independent Department headed by Administrative Secretary Human Rights in 2016.

The aim and objective of this attached Department is to address / observe the issues related to human rights violations and forward the same to the concerned Departments of sindh for Complaints redressal with fully concentration in light of Pakistani society issues especially in Sindh province. The main wing of all Directorates is complaint Cell (having complaints section in the Secretariat office as well to update all activities and report as per direction) where Different Media (Print, Electronic & Social Media) and Physical Complaints are observed for the redressal of Human Rights violation cases. The Physical Complaints are also received in the office of Secretary Human Rights Department and forwarded the same to Directorate Human Rights, Karachi through Complaints Section. Presently the complaint cell of Directorate Human Rights is going to be digitalized through Human Rights Complaint Management System Project / ADP Scheme 2021-2022.

Though the Directorate of Human Rights have acute shortage of Human Resource especially the officers in all regional offices yet the available officers and staff do their best to redress the complaints and prepare as well as maintain the record of all Human Rights cases in every year. The progress of the cases time to time share with concerned higher authority / Secretary as required through Complaint Section.
