functions of department
As per the Sindh Government Rules of Business. 1986 Schedule-II Clause 15-A, Human Rights Department, Government oF Sindh.
- Dealing with complaints and allegations of human rights violation and collection of information and reports on such complaints from other Department or agencies.
- Referring and recommending investigation and inquires in respect of any incident of violation of human rights.
- Coordination of activities of Departments in respect of human rights.
- Service matters, exept those entrusted to the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department.
- Conducting awareness campaigns to sensitize the relevant departments, entities and the general public about treaties, conventions, covenants and protocols concerning Human Rights and Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP+).
- Coordinating and collecting data, information and reports from Provincial Government Departments, Attached Departments, Autonomous or semi-autonomous bodies and other agencies or organizations, on regular basis regarding Implementation of National Action Plan on Human Rights, National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights, Human Rights and GSP+ treaties, conventions, covenants and protocols; and consolidation of the reports and transmission of the consolidated reports to the Federal Government.
